So what is Brothers at the Gate?
To be honest, it’s a work in progress. I suppose if I had to sum it up in one sentence, it would be an international online campaign to help “guys” see the value of being “men” and learn how to fear and love God at the same time.
I hope this is a medium that is used by any man, no matter where their current journey has led them, who can digest information posted on this site, keep an open mind to all options, critically analyze the information, and make decisions not because people told you it was the right thing to do, but because you feel something in your heart and mind telling you it’s the right thing to do.
Honoring God is the motivation of this blog. I wish to create an environment where men have a safe place to talk about anything we like to talk about without the normal temptations we see on the internet everyday.
I hope this campaign grows in virtue of God’s direction, and not my own doing or anyone who contributes. It seems that every time I try to do it my way, it just fails miserably (an experience I often learn over and over again).I hope to see men read, ask questions, and be challenged to think and act – not be judged, threatened, or “guilted”.
This blog is designed to talk about things happening in our everyday lives. This could be politics, economics, technology, etc.. Most importantly I am also, using this blog to help share the teachings of the Bible through devotions. I’ve always had trouble with my daily devotions and I’m sure there are many like me who get caught up in there daily routines. This platform, I hope, will anyone who chooses to commit, to come back daily and read with me the bible. Not only will this commitment help us stay close to God, but it will also enrich our conversations this blog will offer.
I hope this campaign will encourage men to be men. Men that can learn to be leaders at any level of their life. Whether they are single, married, have kids or no kids, own a business or work for someone that does.
Most importantly, I hope men can use this to network with other men. To learn that they can go through life knowing that they are not alone in world that seems to be turning upside down.
